Car Booty'ing Bargains!

Over this summer, I didn't really do anything major fab, a lot of students (well young peeps, I just said peeps and I don't care, hehe) go travelling, clubbing holidays, festivals etc. but I spent mine with Family and I wouldn't have changed that if I could. To be honest I did that all last year, I went to Magaluf with my girls, saw a lot of bands I loved, even visited places around the UK and went to Leeds Festival, it was a great year. This year I found myself getting up at 5am to go to a carboot with my mum, we so crazay. I love carboots, they are just so fun - maybe not the early start but it's only for a couple of hours.

The first day, Sunday Morning of the Bank Holiday. Got there for about 6am, and before we had even set anything up, the proper car booters were already looking into our boxes and watching me unwrap the Crockery and China that we had cleared out from my Grandma's house. The first day was very successful we made about £80 and only £20 on the second day, a nice £50 each. Mum however was practically giving all of our stuff away, so it was a very good thing that I came along to help with the bartering - which I found out I'm not that shabby at ;) When my stepdad came to see how we were doing and delivered the clothes rail, me and mum went off to have a nosey at the other stalls. I purposely didn't bring my purse along with me so I didn't give into the temptation of buying anything... I obviously went back to get it but look what bargains I got!
Document bag/Leather Clutch - 50p
Charlotte Candle - Free
Clinique Pore Refining Solution - 50p
I found this gorgeous Brown Real Leather Clutch, the woman got up and straight away offered me it for 50p, yes, 50p. Instantly sold. It's actually meant to be a document holder for like passports and travel money etc, but I thought it would make a good clutch for a night out as it's just the right size to hold everything in and it seems pretty secure to hold everything when i'm a drunken mess (not that I ever get in such a state...). The lady saved it for me and I ran back to get my purse, my plan of not bringing it didn't work. When I got back I saw this cute Charlotte Candle and was like oh look mum, the lady then gave it to me as she had given up hope that there was any more Charlotte's left, bless. It does smell really nice and apparently i'm a lady of mystery, cheeky.
I also got this Clinique Pore Refining Solution. It was a bit of a risk buying this and I didn't really know what it was or did. I just saw Clinique and bought it, I had a spare 50p so why not? I actually really like this though, it makes my skin look and feel great and totally mattified. Definitely worth the risk, I may even buy it.

On the second day, Bank Holiday Monday, we didn't sell as much. Probably because we sold all the good stuff the day before. We even saw the same pro car-booty-goers and the same happened when we got there at 6.30am (had an extra 30 mins in bed) someone already wanted to buy our table. They didn't in the end, but the table had a lot of interest, a young lad wanted to buy it and said he would think about it. A man then came up to the stall and asked how much we were selling it for, we said about £6, he rudely said 'don't mean to offend you but I'll give you £3 for it.' bearing in mind that this a proper wood little coffee table, me and mum just looked at each other and sold it for £4 as we just wanted rid. We then saw the young lad walk past our stall with OUR TABLE which the man must have sold for more on his carboot, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT... (sorry, I re-lived my anger again, opps ahahaha) I actually was so shocked, and we were already not enjoying ourselves as much as yesterday as the buyers were rude and not saying morning back to me and no one was buying anything. So I angrily bought thee best Bacon Burger (with ketchup and BBQ sauce and obviously onions) I have ever had, cheered us both straight up! As soon as the clock hit 12pm we had already packed up and left.

However I did get this really cute Henry Holland Dress (well a long top) which was not a bad price and such a good find. I didn't think it would fit as it was a 12 and my boobs have never been in a size 12 for a good couple of years however it fits perfect, if anything it's a bit big of me. Proper confidence boost for me!
Henry Holland Dress £2.50
(sorry about the bad quality!)

Charlotte's August/September Buys

After my June/July post, I realised that I had a lot more too show you, which is why I waited til the end of August (now 1/4 through September oppps) to show you the rest of my buys, well bargains!

Primark £1.50
Sorry about the rubbed off label, I didn't even realise until I photographed it! But I bought this out of curiosity and because I'm very bad when it comes to queue impulse buying... why do you always think you need something in the little bowls or hangers just before you go to pay?! Very clever advertising if you ask me.
Anyway, at £1.50 it was a brilliant purchase. I love the colour and the good thing about this lipgloss stick, is that it doesn't have the sticky quality of a normal lipgloss.

Republic £4 (was £30)
I definitely think we all need to appreciate this beautiful bag. I have been on the hunt for months for a black leather rucksack and was having no luck. Until I went for an adventure checking out the new surroundings of my new house, and got a call from Lucy (my housemate/best friend) saying she has bought me a rucksack and she hopes I like it.
When she got back home from town, I was in love. She was going to buy me the bag for my birthday, the bag is should have been £30 to £15 but when she got to the checkout, it scanned in at £4! Yes, only 4 little pounds! So she went back and got herself one too. I have already worn out my bag and broken the clasps off from carrying too much however I do plan to fix this and I still have been using it regardless, it just goes with everything.
Urban Outfitters Boxes £5 (was £25 ish)
A while back we wandered into Urban Outfitters Sale and me and lucy saw this really cute box (the top picture, bottom box), it felt heavy so we were intrigued to see what was in the box, only to find a smaller box. I would have loved to of filmed our reaction because the smaller the boxes got, the more (over) excited we got. 5 lovely patterned boxes later, we were gutted that it ended, however rushed to the counter to buy them. For a fiver? A pound a box, bargain! I currently have my perfume and body/face bits in one, grips and bobbles etc in another, and some jewellery one and the a couple are empty!
Tesco £6
I've been after a brown leather, small strap watch for AGES now and I finally found one in Tesco. Never thought I would have found it there, but hey ho, I love it. It's just what I wanted and all for £6. I currently have the problem that one hole is too tight and one hole is too loose, not a big problem but I don't want to break it!
I'm in love with The Body Shop at the moment. If you saw in my June/July post then you read that I bought The Body Shop 'Love Your Body' card. Such a good purchase, I went in a couple days after my birthday to use my free £5 off present they give you in your birthday month. I decided to buy the Beautifying Oil as I asked the lady what would be good for my dry hair and she suggested this as you can use it on your hair, body and face and even said you could use it a cuticle oil as well. I have used this on my face and sometimes my hair for nearly a month and I still have the majority of the bottle left. I really love this product at the moment and for £9 I did at first think it was a bit pricey however I only paid £3.10 for it - with my Body Card 10% discount and my £5 birthday deduction, the lady also put a Banana Shampoo and Conditioner sample (to see if it help with my damaged hair) and samples of Hemp Hand Protector and Almond Hand and Nail Cream.
I am going to do a full Birthday The Body Shop Haul very soon (promise! I may even do more than one post about it) as I got a lot more products and I want to tell you my opinions of them to you!
Here's an instagram picture of all the buys me and mother bought (the body butter and lipgloss is momma's)

What do you think of my buys?
Make sure you link me any of your recent buys, I love being nosey!

Charlotte's June/July Buys

Since we had a mini break and I was going to do this post a while ago but I some reason didn't get round to actually doing the post so I've rounded up everything that I've bought/I've been bought in the past couple of months to share with you because I have managed to get some right bargains!

Urban Outfitters- Jewellery Box £12 (was £26)
Urban Outfitter- Photo Frame £3 (was £6)
Before we moved house, I was just browsing facebook at stupid o'clock in the morning and the jewellery box that I fell in love with popped up on the side advertisement, shouting, I repeat, shouting at me saying it was now £12! I honestly nearly wee'd myself. I was going to buy this at full price which I'm very glad I didn't. So while I was about to purchase this beautiful wooden box, I decided to gander through the sale and saw this adorable Glitter Heart Photo Frame which was half price so I thought it would be cute to put a picture of me and David in it!
I will show you more buys I got from Ikea for my new room in my New Bedroom Post which I will do shortly.
The Body Shop- Born Lippy £Free (£3) Strawberry Body Mist £5.60 (£7.50)
I saw a deal on one of the student money saver websites (definitely worth checking out, they are always updating brilliant offers and freebies) for a free Born Lippy Lip Balm from The Body Shop, I instantly printed off the slip and walked into the shop expected them to say its not valid or something. Oh how I went in on a good day. As soon as I walked in the shop I noticed that all of the Strawberry collection was on 25% off, that day only, and I LOVE the strawberry section in The Body Shop, saying that anything strawberry is brilliant. Anyway, I had already pre warned myself that I can not afford to buy anything, get the free lip balm and leave; but when I asked the guy if it was valid, he also told me that if you spend £5 or more today you get the membership card free (normally £5). I then couldn't resist to buy the Body Mist which was just over £5.60, I got the free lip balm in Toffee, which I slightly regret now, it doesn't smell/taste like toffee, and the membership card all for £3.75- not entirely sure how but I got another 10% off from the membership card (I know it doesn't add up but I'm not complaining). The Body Shop is my new favourite shop.

Matalan- Soon Collection
Matalan- Soon Collection
Matalan
So me and mum had a lovely trip to Matalan a while ago now, and planned to get some new and correct size bras for myself because none of my bras actually fitted me. We obviously also had to have a look around the clothes before getting to the bra section. I must say, the bra rails in Matalan are terrible, I think I l knocked a good couple of bras off and looking for my size was impossible without 10 other bras coming off too. After knocking the majority of the bras off and hunting around the hundreds of styles, I only found a couple in my actual size- story of my life and we ended up only buying 1. While I was looking at bras, mum had wondered off into the Soon Collection, which I'd say is a collection for the more mature lady. There was a 3 for 2 offer on, mum had already picked out 2 items and said I could have the final item, I initially didn't think I would find anything, however I managed to spot both the blue dress and the white top up which I love the embroidery and beading on them both! I tried them both on and fell in love and mum luckily only liked 1 of her items, so she got me both, tehe. The blue dress I thought was a bit posh, but it was perfect for cocktails for my friends birthday.
Mum also picked out this grey midi dress for me, which she really liked and thought it would hide my minging thighs perfectly, cheers mum. But I'm very grateful, at first I was a bit weary showing just half my calf (poet) but I love it! I've been dressing it up with flatforms and a gold chain.
I'm not actually sure how much these all where but thanks momma!
Primark Jumper- £3 (was £12)
Tori already has this jumper and I was totally jealous when she bought it, so when I saw it hanging on the Primark sale rail in my size, it was fate. I love the embroidery on it and I can't wait for the weather to get cooler so I can wear it, I would definitely melt if I wore it in this heat.
L'oreal Skin Perfection Purifying Micellar Solution- £2.49
I got this from Body Care after seeing Essie Button post about getting this. I thought I might try it as my current cleanser was running out, so far I'm not sure if I like this product; I may do a full review after I've used it a lot more because I'm still not certain about it.
Dorothy Perkins- £2 (was about £6.50 I think)
Dorothy Perkins- £2 (was £6.50)
Me, Tori and Charlotte McQ popped into DPs to see if they had any sensible work shoes for me, however we made it to the jewellery sale rail instead. I fell in love with both of these necklaces! The wishbone necklace came on cardboard with a dog printed on it, and it's my new favourite thing, I've worn it nearly everyday since buying it. I haven't actually worn the gold necklace yet, but it's going to look great when it's a bit cooler for me to wear with my shirts!
Kurt Geiger in Debenhams- Bank of Mum- £25 (was £85)
Oh god, here they are!
I got these not long ago for my birthday night out. Looking through Debenhams shoe collection and these were the only pair I could find that I liked. They're a size 8 and a tiny bit big on me so it took me a while to decide if I actually wanted them. I thankfully persuaded myself to get them and just got big memory foam insoles to make them fit perfectly, hooray for big feet! I actually didn't know these were Kurt Geigers until I actually bought them, mum bought them and for £25 I was bouncing for the rest of the day!

I have a couple more items that I need to photograph and it's kind of august now so I will do another post at the end of this month and show you more of my new buys without spamming you with them all at once.

Have you got any good bargains recently?

Day out in Lincoln, my shopping haul and OOTD

Hey Lovelies!

Since moving to Leeds for University I haven't really spent much time with my mum, so last week in the Easter holidays when I was at home, we had a lovely and well needed trip to Lincoln as it's only an hour away from my home town to do some retail therapy.

I love Lincoln, the architecture is just wonderful and luckily it was a beautiful day to walk up the 'Steep Hill', we raided Primark, had some wonderful pub grub lunch in Varsity, walked up to the Cathedral and had a look round and then caught the train back home.

This is the outfit that I wore for our day out. My favourite pleated leather look skirt and my charity shop jumper to make sure that I was still fairly warm when walking about Lincoln, as we all know the weather is a bit temperamental at the moment! I also wore my Topshop Hiking Boots as they are great when walking around for hours on end.
I must warn you, this is a heavily photograph based post!
My hair looks so flat here :(
Jumper; Charity Shop
Necklace; eBay

There is so many cute boutique shops in Lincoln, I think we literally went in every one of them
Momma showing the size of the hill
There she is, Momma Bear
We came to the conclusion that the towers are wonky
Cute houses and cottages which surround the Cathedral

We did a bit of bargain hunting too, raided primark and got a couple of other bargains too!
I love the peter pan on this top! £6
This is such an adorable dress, it even has pockets! This dress will look fab in the summer too
Denim Skater skirt £10
I got some 3/4 joggers for chilling out in the flat in for £5
Adorable Jimmie set for £8
I got these fab glittery leggings from Miss Selfridge (in the sale from £24 down to £7 and I got them for £6.30 with student discount, wooo) At the time I was wearing these and trying to get a good photograph was very difficult. Also the whole time I was wearing them I just felt like a Mermaid. It. Was. Great!
I got this adorable A5 notebook for £1.75 down from £3.50 in the Paperchase sale.
Paperchase was the first shop that we went in and it's one of my favourite shops because I'm a massive stationary nerd. There was originally 3 of these books, but for some reason I decided to get it on the way back to the train station and I was planning on getting couple, possibly all 3 to make cute photo albums. But by the time I went to buy it there was only 1 left, luckily. I love the pattern on the front of the book and I love the fact the pages are brown, if they weren't I probably wouldn't have bought it!
I bought my cousin these cute Worry Dolls £1.50 which go under her pillow and take your worries away!

My mum also made me get a pair of black skinnies for £11 as I she knows I have such a hate for jeans/trousers and just live in skirts and leggings. I have not worn them yet, but I am determined to get some wear out them and get out of my bad habit. But leggings are just too comfy right?

I also have some great news about our giveaway, the Baking Mad Cook Book is finally on the way to us so our first ever giveaway should be open by the end of the week! Yay!

Have you been to Lincoln before? What you think of my haul?
