The Spring/Summer Backpack: Want List #3

The Backpack

1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8

I have fallen in love with so many backpack recently, I only actually own one - this need to change. Backpack are so easy to wear, stuff everything in them and just throw them over your shoulder and thats that, perfect on a spring/summers day (whenever the sun arrives) to pack your camera and picnic in for a bike ride. I say it's that easy but I always get paranoid when wearing one, incase someone pickpockets without me realising.
There is a small pale pink frilled backpack I fell in love with in Topshop the other day, which sadly isn't on this post as it isn't actually on the website. Other backpacks I really like at the moment are, The New Look Backpack in Want List #1Pull & Bear Patchwork Tan Back Pack and Bowery Mini Backpack from Gypsy Warrior (which I just forgot to put on this mood board, opppsie)

On either side of the mood board are two beautiful backpacks from Free People, who sell luxury and fabulous gypsy/boho hippy chic style clothes and accessories. I love both of these backpacks, I really wish I had the money to buy the leather one, however at £398.00 - I'll probably give it a miss.
I put the Hershel bag on the mood board for a bit of a joke. David actually has the bigger version of this style and when we saw it in Urban Outfitters yesterday we hilariously both stood next to each other with them on, twinnies!
I don't think I can pick a favourite out of all of these bags because they are all so different, however when loan day comes along (only a couple more weeks away now). I definitely think that the Pale Pink backpack will make an appearance in my Topshop basket or at least one of these.

Which one is your favourite?

着物 = KIMONO CRAZE

Kimonos are a traditional Japanese garment and which are a must have item this Spring/Summer and an essential piece of your 2013 festival wardrobe!

Here are some of my favourite I've picked out for you, tell us what you think...
1. ASOS // 2. Topshop // 3. ZARA  // 4. Les Pommettes // 5. RIVER ISLAND

I love the mix of colours, embroidery and detail that goes into these pieces and especially the tassels on some of them! They can brighten up any outfit and the soft light material feels great!

They are perfect over a bikini or swimsuit, or try one with a pair of denim shorts with the boots and bag as shown above too pull off the perfect festival look!
They also look great with wellies for all you festival goers or even carry it off all year round with a pair of jeans and flats!

Are you attending a festival this year?
Will you be purchasing a Kimono?
What do you think of the ones I have picked out?

S/S13- IT DON'T MATTER IF YOU'RE BLACK OR WHITE

Monochrome

It don't matter if you're black or white... but make sure you're wearing both this spring/summer!

For all you who moan about having too much black in your wardrobe well you may just be on trend this season. Monochrome is one of the easiest trends to follow as long as you keep it simple. Black and white inevitably work perfectly together for a sophisticated look and adding white to a black item instantly makes a dull outfit exciting.

Below is one of my style icons Olivia Palermo (you may of seen her featured on The Hills) adding layering and sharp lines she works the monochrome trend perfectly!

1. ZARA // 2. Topshop £150 stingray leather dress by boutique // 3. Miss Selfridge £28 Black felt floppy hat // 4. ZARA £29.99 Trousers with faux leather // 5. ASOS £40 Snapshot pointed heels 6. ASOS £35 Smart front strap bag

I love how simple 4 & 5 are but still add a great impact to your outfit and would also look great when worn together! I have alway stayed away from very pointy shoes and low heels but my mind has been completely changed especially when worn with tailored trousers they look stylish, sexy and sophisticated!

Who is your style icon?
Have you got any black items in your closet you could transform with something white?

S/S13- Get Cutting!

C u t o u t s

Cut outs are not to everyone's taste depending on your shape and size, however this season there are so many ways to do it. Below I have shown a variety of ways to wear this trend for Spring/Summer 2013.

My personal favourites are 1, 2 & 3 from Topshop and ASOS. I love the pattern on the first dress which you can also get in a top and skirt, I like the incorporation of different prints and how it has achieved a pretty but edgy look. The second dress is something I am going to purchase my self, it is so sophisticated with the high neck and simple shape but the zig zag cut outs in the middle add something different, I think paired with a simple Vivienne Westwood necklace and pointed heels would finish the look perfectly.

1. Topshop £42 Acid leaf cutout sun dress // 2. ASOS was £35 now £25 AX Paris dress with cut out waist // 3. Topshop was £59 now £35 brocade cutout dress // 4. Urban Outfitters £16 Sparkle and Fade lurex cut-out crop top // 5. Topshop // 6. ASOS // 7. Urban Outfitters £30.00 Sparkle and Fade cut-out roll neck bodysuit // 8. Urban Outfitters

PS. How awesome is this sunny weather? It's definitely time to start wearing the cut outs and hopefully not getting ridiculous tan lines!

What do you think of the cut out trend?
Will you be taking scissors to fabric any time soon?

Passion for Fashion?

Hey lovelies!

Moneysupermarket.com are holding a 'Passion for Fashion' competition and to enter all you need to do is write a blog post and show them how you would find an outfit for under £200 for each of these categories; Casual wear, Party wear and Holiday wear! Obviously I had to this, I love a good challenge and creating my own outfits even if it makes me really upset that I can't buy all the nice things I want. The closing date of the competition is 8th April 2013, so you have loads of time and for more information check it out here.

So here are my outfits!
1/2/3/4/5/6/7
TOTAL: £152.58

This outfit took me so long, I'm not quite sure why, but it was definitely time well spent. I saw this Miss Selfridge dress in the store not so long ago and it's been on my wishlist since, I love it, it's so adorable and I have such a weakness for an embellished collar.
Originally I was going to use the Mini Sienna Padlock Bag from Topshop as the colour matched so well with the brogues and the belts however with the price tag of £75 I thought that I could find a bag just as good for cheaper, after all we all love a good bargain, and I think this bag looks just as good if not better.
The socks actually come part as a 3 pack, therefore for £8 I didn't think was so bad because then you can mix and match the socks with other shoes to create a whole new look and the belts also come as a 2 Pack for £4.99 which is brilliant as both belts would really go with the whole outfit.

1/2/3/4/5/6
TOTAL: £112.48

I love the neon trend at the moment. My original plan was just to have a neon clutch, however I've wanted a bow clip from AA for ages now, and when I saw they did it in orange, it just would look so cute at the back of my hair and I also thought that the dress would look great with a chunky statement necklace and when I came across this chain one from Topshop, it was like it was meant to be.
I really want these flatforms from Riverisland, I don't like wearing heels because I just tower above everyone else so I normally wear flatforms and I think that these shoes will last a good while as the tread is pretty big!

1/2/3/4/5/6
TOTAL: £114

If you've not already guessed already, Coral/Pink is my favourite colour, I have so many Coral items in my wardrobe, and this summer I will probably buy a whole lot more, I hope. Coral looks great with a tan and when I found this Topshop Cover up I was in love, no matter what swim suit you pick, you could probably pair it with this cover up. The Sandals are just made for the sun, apparently as they are called 'easy tan summer sandal' and there is nothing worse than tan lines, especially embarrassing ones.
This AA bag will be perfect hold all for the beach, you definitely will be able to fit everything in like a towel, dry clothes, books and camera, everything you need!
I love River Island Sunglasses, they suit me a lot better than most sunglasses and for £13 they are a little price to pay. Unfortunately I lost my last pair when I was in Turkey in this beautiful flowing river, nearly cried when it happened and was hunting for ages to find them but as soon as they fell off my head, they were gone *sigh*. If we ever get a summer again this year, they are definitely the first purchase!

MODS

Taking a tip or two from the MODS and heading back to the 60's with this weeks wish list..

Loafers are great with...
1. Rolled up jeans, a stripy top and a leather jacket in the day.
2. They add a quirky, cute touch to tights and a little dress, especially the pinafore dresses which are in many shops at the moment!.
3.Try pairing them with a leather skirt, white shirt, neon jumper and statement necklace
4. Short suit and shirt/ stripy top...trends taken straight from the catwalk for spring 2013.
1/2/3/4/5/6/7
Mix and match these to create the perfect outfit with your loafers!

Our Favourites:
Mine are a little pricey for my student budget at £125 from ASOS (check them out here) but they are lush! however ASOS are always doing good offers and 10% discount as always!

Charlottes are priced at £65 from OFFICE (check them out here) and they also do great offers and 10% student discount! and would look especially lovely in summer. They even have 20% off everything at the moment too!

What do you think of the MOD styles coming back?
Have you got yourself a pair of must have loafers?
What do you wear with your loafers?

China Doll Boutique

I got a wonderful email from Nhuc Tran from China Doll Boutique a couple of weeks ago asking if I would like to collaborate with her, of course I said yes, and she told me about the competition they were having for bloggers to celebrate the launch of the website

It has taken me forever to finally do this post (I'm currently writing this out in my lecture), and took me a good couple of hours to finally decide on what I want to pick for my outfit collage.
The competition is to pick an item from China Doll Boutique and then make an outfit worth upto £200 around that item. I picked the Red Velvet Dress with the beautiful gold detailing on the skirt, teamed with a cute White Short Sleeved Shirt to go underneath the dress, plain thick black tights, a Black Leather Jacket; a staple in everyone's wardrobe and these amazing ASOS Creepers which have been on my wish list for ages now!
I love this outfit, it's adorable with a rock chick edge.

etailPR Asos and Marc B. Competition

I'm finally on the mend, hooray! So what better way to spend the day than making an outfit collage?

etailPR are holding a great competition at the moment to win £75 to spend at Marc B. and £175 to spent at ASOS, all you have to do is create an outfit collage using ASOS clothing based around one of Marc B's new season bags.
I have based my outfit around the fabulous Giselle Black Tote. I fell in love with this bag instantly, I love the strong structure and the simplicity of the bag, you could wear this tote with everything and anything and it needs to be hanging off my arm...

I decided to go for a grungey, simplistic style outfit so all eyes are on the Giselle tote bag, because if/when I wear this bag I want everyone to be staring at it.
1/2/3/4/5/6/7

The dress and army jacket are both items from a Danish Label called Just Female. I really like their  clothing range as they are simple and minimalist designs however they are a bit too pricey for my student budget, boo! I do really like the Army Jacket with the pull in waist as I like the brown/khaki colour, the length of the jacket and the massive front pockets, I think this would go with most things in my wardrobe.
I also really like these Mogul Leather Creepers and teamed up with the Sheer Striped Socks, I am a big fan of the Alpha Female trend (ladies being able to wear mens clothes and suiting up) I think that these creepers would look great with above the ankle suit trousers or rolled up slouchy jeans.

If you want to enter this competition too, you have till 9am on Friday 22nd February to send your link to etailPR, check out their blogpost on how to enter here. Also check out Marc B's fabulous bag collections here! Good luck!

CAT MAD

A little fact about me, I love cats. I've always had a cat in my life since I was born and I will admit that since moving to uni I do miss my kitty, Tiger also known as Tigsley, Tiggleypie, Tiggy, Poo, Kitty, Cat, the list goes on. I am one for little pet names for everything, for example David is Daveypie and Stan is Stanleybear. I really don't know why I do it, it just flows naturally out of my mouth :')
And because I'm missing Tigs I have decided I need a cat top in my life!
Kitty Tops

(Going from top left all the way round)

Unfortunately this is a petite top, booo
This is my fav, but at the moment I can't justify paying that much
This is also one of my fav's I love the colour of the jumper
This is such a cute top, it makes me giggle with cuteness, however I'm not keen on the neck line
I think this is my least favourite out them all as I think that the material looks quite thin and see through in the photographs
Yes, Yes, I know that this is not a top, but it has a cat on and its adorable and I need it on me
I love the detailing of the cat's face on this top and it looks like it would be really comfy to wear (not quite sure how)

Which top is your favourite? and have you already got a cat top?!

Watch time is it?

Hello Lovelies,
Been busy past couple of days trying to fit everyone in to say bye before going back to Uni at the weekend. I went out Saturday afternoon to take some Theory 59 band photos. They only gave me 30 minutes to photograph their pretty faces in a bitterly cold, windy field, I've not looked at them yet nor edited them so I'm not sure what they are like, I will post them when they are ready.
I also watched Dynamo, Magician Impossible series 2 last night, I really am just mind blown by Dynamo and it frustrates me that his tricks are impossible? Surely? I will be first to get tickets if and when he does a Live show, I need to see it for my own eyes!!

I've been after a watch for ages now and  really need/want one asap- especially for my lectures, so I can see how slow time is going without being rude and getting my phone out all the time.
A brown simple watch would be perfect like the ones below that I've had my eye on
1) ASOS Rabbit ears watch £20
I really wish this was a Cat not a Rabbit, the Cat watch isn't as cute and it has a black strap which sucks but I think that this Rabbit one is adorable
2) Casio Mini Digital Watch £30
A Casio Watch was on my Christmas list however I forgot to tell both my Momma and Papa, so Santa didn't know hehe. You can get these from various places like American Apparel which are slightly more expensive or you can get a good deal on eBay
3) River Island Vintage Style Patent Croc £15
This is sold out on both the River Island and ASOS website, I can totally understand why, This has to be one of my favourites out of this bunch. I love the Roman Numerals on the clock face.
4) Classic St Andrews Lady £166ish
This is my favourite watch out of the Daniel Wellington collection and what I would give to get one, just a bit out of my student budget at the moment, booey!
5) Brown Skinny Floral Watch £15
I like the simple floral design on the clock face and its such a good price
6) Brown Antique Watch £20
This is also one of my favourite watches, again I love the Roman Numerals on the clock face and I really like the colour of the strap

I will definitely be purchasing one of these in the next couple of weeks, need to get my save on!

I currently can not stop listening to the Foals. They're releasing a new album, Holy Fire which is out on the 11th February, and the two songs they have released already are just fabby! Give them a listen and definitely buy their new album, I will be...

Wish List #1 - ASOS Shirts

I'm still in love the statement peter pan collars on shirts, I just want everything to have a collar on!
I am a very busty girl (E cup to be precise) so I find it extremely hard to find anything to fit properly around the bust area, especially in shirts. Sheer shirts are a pain as I don't want to have my juggles on show and I can not find a bandeau to fit me ANYWHERE, my solution is a vest underneath, problemo solved. But then I have to go up at least 1 or 2 sizes to fit them in without the buttons opening at the bust. Overall boobs just aren't suitable.
At the moment I've been wearing my dad's old shirts which I have customised myself with studs or just wear them under a jumper, however they are really baggy and aren't that flattering. So I want some more...

ASOS Shirts

ASOS Shirts by clrl featuring asos

I love all of these shirts from ASOS, my favourites have got to be the Blue Blouse with Embroidered Mesh Collar (BL) and the White Blouse with Floral Embroidery (BM). I also love the Dahlia Stud Embellishment Collar Blouse (BR), I've had my eye on it for ages now and I just need it in my wardrobe! Check their website here, I'd buy the whole shop, if I could!

Have a great weekend!
