The Spring/Summer Backpack: Want List #3

The Backpack

1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8

I have fallen in love with so many backpack recently, I only actually own one - this need to change. Backpack are so easy to wear, stuff everything in them and just throw them over your shoulder and thats that, perfect on a spring/summers day (whenever the sun arrives) to pack your camera and picnic in for a bike ride. I say it's that easy but I always get paranoid when wearing one, incase someone pickpockets without me realising.
There is a small pale pink frilled backpack I fell in love with in Topshop the other day, which sadly isn't on this post as it isn't actually on the website. Other backpacks I really like at the moment are, The New Look Backpack in Want List #1Pull & Bear Patchwork Tan Back Pack and Bowery Mini Backpack from Gypsy Warrior (which I just forgot to put on this mood board, opppsie)

On either side of the mood board are two beautiful backpacks from Free People, who sell luxury and fabulous gypsy/boho hippy chic style clothes and accessories. I love both of these backpacks, I really wish I had the money to buy the leather one, however at £398.00 - I'll probably give it a miss.
I put the Hershel bag on the mood board for a bit of a joke. David actually has the bigger version of this style and when we saw it in Urban Outfitters yesterday we hilariously both stood next to each other with them on, twinnies!
I don't think I can pick a favourite out of all of these bags because they are all so different, however when loan day comes along (only a couple more weeks away now). I definitely think that the Pale Pink backpack will make an appearance in my Topshop basket or at least one of these.

Which one is your favourite?

The Simple & Risky Want List #2

The casual risky outfit

Risky, you say? Yes, I hate jeans and tops that are waist length... I'm a freak, I know. Confidence issues suck, but I love this outfit!
I'm loving River Island recently, I haven't been shopping in a couple weeks and I fell in love with everything in sight. There was so many different patterns, colours, styles, and this top caught my eye, it's so colourful! Paired with some simple black jeans, the ones I have picked are from Topshop, something of which has never been on my legs before. I just hate jeans, how tight they are (I say that, but I wear leggings all the time, which doesn't make sense) and uncomfortable and I don't like how they look on my legs - I'm yet to try how amazing Topshop jeans are. I want these shoes, I actually love ALL the shoes at Urban Outfitters right now, I just hate the price tag. I think they have similar shoes in Primark at the moment (I can hear them calling me) which most definitely won't be £80.
I'm also finally on the Michael Kors watch bandwagon, I want this watch so bad! I'm not a fan of the massive rose gold jewelled style but when David kindly sent me the link to the Amazon deals on Michael Kors watches and I actually saw a couple which I really liked. I can't believe the prices either, most of the watches are 'more affordable' than I thought they were. Dammit now I need to find a spare £140...

Charlotte's August/September Buys

After my June/July post, I realised that I had a lot more too show you, which is why I waited til the end of August (now 1/4 through September oppps) to show you the rest of my buys, well bargains!

Primark £1.50
Sorry about the rubbed off label, I didn't even realise until I photographed it! But I bought this out of curiosity and because I'm very bad when it comes to queue impulse buying... why do you always think you need something in the little bowls or hangers just before you go to pay?! Very clever advertising if you ask me.
Anyway, at £1.50 it was a brilliant purchase. I love the colour and the good thing about this lipgloss stick, is that it doesn't have the sticky quality of a normal lipgloss.

Republic £4 (was £30)
I definitely think we all need to appreciate this beautiful bag. I have been on the hunt for months for a black leather rucksack and was having no luck. Until I went for an adventure checking out the new surroundings of my new house, and got a call from Lucy (my housemate/best friend) saying she has bought me a rucksack and she hopes I like it.
When she got back home from town, I was in love. She was going to buy me the bag for my birthday, the bag is should have been £30 to £15 but when she got to the checkout, it scanned in at £4! Yes, only 4 little pounds! So she went back and got herself one too. I have already worn out my bag and broken the clasps off from carrying too much however I do plan to fix this and I still have been using it regardless, it just goes with everything.
Urban Outfitters Boxes £5 (was £25 ish)
A while back we wandered into Urban Outfitters Sale and me and lucy saw this really cute box (the top picture, bottom box), it felt heavy so we were intrigued to see what was in the box, only to find a smaller box. I would have loved to of filmed our reaction because the smaller the boxes got, the more (over) excited we got. 5 lovely patterned boxes later, we were gutted that it ended, however rushed to the counter to buy them. For a fiver? A pound a box, bargain! I currently have my perfume and body/face bits in one, grips and bobbles etc in another, and some jewellery one and the a couple are empty!
Tesco £6
I've been after a brown leather, small strap watch for AGES now and I finally found one in Tesco. Never thought I would have found it there, but hey ho, I love it. It's just what I wanted and all for £6. I currently have the problem that one hole is too tight and one hole is too loose, not a big problem but I don't want to break it!
I'm in love with The Body Shop at the moment. If you saw in my June/July post then you read that I bought The Body Shop 'Love Your Body' card. Such a good purchase, I went in a couple days after my birthday to use my free £5 off present they give you in your birthday month. I decided to buy the Beautifying Oil as I asked the lady what would be good for my dry hair and she suggested this as you can use it on your hair, body and face and even said you could use it a cuticle oil as well. I have used this on my face and sometimes my hair for nearly a month and I still have the majority of the bottle left. I really love this product at the moment and for £9 I did at first think it was a bit pricey however I only paid £3.10 for it - with my Body Card 10% discount and my £5 birthday deduction, the lady also put a Banana Shampoo and Conditioner sample (to see if it help with my damaged hair) and samples of Hemp Hand Protector and Almond Hand and Nail Cream.
I am going to do a full Birthday The Body Shop Haul very soon (promise! I may even do more than one post about it) as I got a lot more products and I want to tell you my opinions of them to you!
Here's an instagram picture of all the buys me and mother bought (the body butter and lipgloss is momma's)

What do you think of my buys?
Make sure you link me any of your recent buys, I love being nosey!

Charlotte's June/July Buys

Since we had a mini break and I was going to do this post a while ago but I some reason didn't get round to actually doing the post so I've rounded up everything that I've bought/I've been bought in the past couple of months to share with you because I have managed to get some right bargains!

Urban Outfitters- Jewellery Box £12 (was £26)
Urban Outfitter- Photo Frame £3 (was £6)
Before we moved house, I was just browsing facebook at stupid o'clock in the morning and the jewellery box that I fell in love with popped up on the side advertisement, shouting, I repeat, shouting at me saying it was now £12! I honestly nearly wee'd myself. I was going to buy this at full price which I'm very glad I didn't. So while I was about to purchase this beautiful wooden box, I decided to gander through the sale and saw this adorable Glitter Heart Photo Frame which was half price so I thought it would be cute to put a picture of me and David in it!
I will show you more buys I got from Ikea for my new room in my New Bedroom Post which I will do shortly.
The Body Shop- Born Lippy £Free (£3) Strawberry Body Mist £5.60 (£7.50)
I saw a deal on one of the student money saver websites (definitely worth checking out, they are always updating brilliant offers and freebies) for a free Born Lippy Lip Balm from The Body Shop, I instantly printed off the slip and walked into the shop expected them to say its not valid or something. Oh how I went in on a good day. As soon as I walked in the shop I noticed that all of the Strawberry collection was on 25% off, that day only, and I LOVE the strawberry section in The Body Shop, saying that anything strawberry is brilliant. Anyway, I had already pre warned myself that I can not afford to buy anything, get the free lip balm and leave; but when I asked the guy if it was valid, he also told me that if you spend £5 or more today you get the membership card free (normally £5). I then couldn't resist to buy the Body Mist which was just over £5.60, I got the free lip balm in Toffee, which I slightly regret now, it doesn't smell/taste like toffee, and the membership card all for £3.75- not entirely sure how but I got another 10% off from the membership card (I know it doesn't add up but I'm not complaining). The Body Shop is my new favourite shop.

Matalan- Soon Collection
Matalan- Soon Collection
Matalan
So me and mum had a lovely trip to Matalan a while ago now, and planned to get some new and correct size bras for myself because none of my bras actually fitted me. We obviously also had to have a look around the clothes before getting to the bra section. I must say, the bra rails in Matalan are terrible, I think I l knocked a good couple of bras off and looking for my size was impossible without 10 other bras coming off too. After knocking the majority of the bras off and hunting around the hundreds of styles, I only found a couple in my actual size- story of my life and we ended up only buying 1. While I was looking at bras, mum had wondered off into the Soon Collection, which I'd say is a collection for the more mature lady. There was a 3 for 2 offer on, mum had already picked out 2 items and said I could have the final item, I initially didn't think I would find anything, however I managed to spot both the blue dress and the white top up which I love the embroidery and beading on them both! I tried them both on and fell in love and mum luckily only liked 1 of her items, so she got me both, tehe. The blue dress I thought was a bit posh, but it was perfect for cocktails for my friends birthday.
Mum also picked out this grey midi dress for me, which she really liked and thought it would hide my minging thighs perfectly, cheers mum. But I'm very grateful, at first I was a bit weary showing just half my calf (poet) but I love it! I've been dressing it up with flatforms and a gold chain.
I'm not actually sure how much these all where but thanks momma!
Primark Jumper- £3 (was £12)
Tori already has this jumper and I was totally jealous when she bought it, so when I saw it hanging on the Primark sale rail in my size, it was fate. I love the embroidery on it and I can't wait for the weather to get cooler so I can wear it, I would definitely melt if I wore it in this heat.
L'oreal Skin Perfection Purifying Micellar Solution- £2.49
I got this from Body Care after seeing Essie Button post about getting this. I thought I might try it as my current cleanser was running out, so far I'm not sure if I like this product; I may do a full review after I've used it a lot more because I'm still not certain about it.
Dorothy Perkins- £2 (was about £6.50 I think)
Dorothy Perkins- £2 (was £6.50)
Me, Tori and Charlotte McQ popped into DPs to see if they had any sensible work shoes for me, however we made it to the jewellery sale rail instead. I fell in love with both of these necklaces! The wishbone necklace came on cardboard with a dog printed on it, and it's my new favourite thing, I've worn it nearly everyday since buying it. I haven't actually worn the gold necklace yet, but it's going to look great when it's a bit cooler for me to wear with my shirts!
Kurt Geiger in Debenhams- Bank of Mum- £25 (was £85)
Oh god, here they are!
I got these not long ago for my birthday night out. Looking through Debenhams shoe collection and these were the only pair I could find that I liked. They're a size 8 and a tiny bit big on me so it took me a while to decide if I actually wanted them. I thankfully persuaded myself to get them and just got big memory foam insoles to make them fit perfectly, hooray for big feet! I actually didn't know these were Kurt Geigers until I actually bought them, mum bought them and for £25 I was bouncing for the rest of the day!

I have a couple more items that I need to photograph and it's kind of august now so I will do another post at the end of this month and show you more of my new buys without spamming you with them all at once.

Have you got any good bargains recently?

WE'RE BACK

Uh oh, we had a mini unintentional break, due to the lack of internet *sobs*

We have so much to catch up on so here it goes...

New Home Cake
First of all, we've moved houses! We are moving on from our first year of uni and leaving student accommodation. Which sucks as we are no longer in the centre of Leeds anymore so we've either spent a lot of time walking or spent a lot on taxi fares to and from town. On the upside, Charlotte doesn't live with minging girls in a disgusting, unhygienic flat anymore, woo!
We were very lucky getting our houses, we have a FAB landlord, who is literally amazing, she took Charlotte and Lucy (one of her housemates and bestfriend from home) to Dunelm Mill to get new wall art for their house and spent £90 on stuff for us. Both our houses are literally across the road from each other, so we're basically in the same house, sort of...pretty much.
Because we have just moved in, we didn't have any internet until yesterday which is why we've had a bit of a break. We will do a blog post soon showing you around our new rooms, give you all a sneak peek! Lets just say it will be like a episode of MTV cribs without the swimming pools and excessive amount of cars and rooms!

Charlotte had to resit a module (major boo). So spent a lot of the sunny days revising and burning outside, and then decided it was best to spend the last few days revising inside instead... Her tan lines on her boobs were hilarious :') emphasis on the 'were', where has Mr. Sunshine gone? Leeds has just been muggy and overcast AND WE'RE NOT DEALING WITH IT VERY WELL, everyone is constantly sweaty and it is not very nice.
Anyway, no news yet if Charlotte has passed her resit but we have high hopes that it went well. Fingers and toes are crossed.

We've got jobs!! That's right, we've both got jobs! We are now officially working girls again.
Charlotte managed to get 3 jobs in the space of a week... 3! And tori has got a job and an interview for 2 of the places where Charlotte works. We've got a couple shifts in August but they don't really properly start until September when Leeds' student life is mad again, so we're still going to be poor this summer! And we have already found out a perk of the job...drum role please... we will be working The Script gig! So we don't really mind getting payed to "watch" them, helllllloooooo Danny O'Donoghue.

We also have pen pals!
Well so far we've just been setup with pen pals by the lovely Ashley from Private School Prepster. When she posted back in June about wanting to arrange some girls together to be pen pals, we couldn't ignore it and emailed her straight away because we all love sending and receiving cute stationery!
Tori is paired with Sockwun from ExtraExtravagant and Charlotte is paired with Hannah from Raspberry Kitsch, definitely worth checking these girls out as they both have brilliant and very different blogs.

Charlotte had a date with her housemate, Charlotte (we'll call her Charlotte McQ to stop the confusion), as Charlotte McQ got free cinema tickets to see The Heat on Monday.
The film was absolutely hilarious, I've never actually laughed so much in the cinema before, like genuine laughing. It's definitely worth seeing when it comes out 31st July, you can totally tell that it's the same director of 'Bridesmaids', and if you thought that was good you'll definitely love this! Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy make such a good duo, I am 100% buying this when it gets released on DVD and may even go see it again on the opening night. How photoshopped does Melissa McCarthy's face look on the main promotion poster!?

Can't wait to show you around our new rooms! What have you got upto this past month?

p.s. Urban Outfitters has upto 70% sale on at the moment and with the code 'LASTCHANCE' you can get an extra 25% off! 95% say whaat? GO GO GO Offer ends 31st July.

S/S13- Get Cutting!

C u t o u t s

Cut outs are not to everyone's taste depending on your shape and size, however this season there are so many ways to do it. Below I have shown a variety of ways to wear this trend for Spring/Summer 2013.

My personal favourites are 1, 2 & 3 from Topshop and ASOS. I love the pattern on the first dress which you can also get in a top and skirt, I like the incorporation of different prints and how it has achieved a pretty but edgy look. The second dress is something I am going to purchase my self, it is so sophisticated with the high neck and simple shape but the zig zag cut outs in the middle add something different, I think paired with a simple Vivienne Westwood necklace and pointed heels would finish the look perfectly.

1. Topshop £42 Acid leaf cutout sun dress // 2. ASOS was £35 now £25 AX Paris dress with cut out waist // 3. Topshop was £59 now £35 brocade cutout dress // 4. Urban Outfitters £16 Sparkle and Fade lurex cut-out crop top // 5. Topshop // 6. ASOS // 7. Urban Outfitters £30.00 Sparkle and Fade cut-out roll neck bodysuit // 8. Urban Outfitters

PS. How awesome is this sunny weather? It's definitely time to start wearing the cut outs and hopefully not getting ridiculous tan lines!

What do you think of the cut out trend?
Will you be taking scissors to fabric any time soon?

Passion for Fashion?

Hey lovelies!

Moneysupermarket.com are holding a 'Passion for Fashion' competition and to enter all you need to do is write a blog post and show them how you would find an outfit for under £200 for each of these categories; Casual wear, Party wear and Holiday wear! Obviously I had to this, I love a good challenge and creating my own outfits even if it makes me really upset that I can't buy all the nice things I want. The closing date of the competition is 8th April 2013, so you have loads of time and for more information check it out here.

So here are my outfits!
1/2/3/4/5/6/7
TOTAL: £152.58

This outfit took me so long, I'm not quite sure why, but it was definitely time well spent. I saw this Miss Selfridge dress in the store not so long ago and it's been on my wishlist since, I love it, it's so adorable and I have such a weakness for an embellished collar.
Originally I was going to use the Mini Sienna Padlock Bag from Topshop as the colour matched so well with the brogues and the belts however with the price tag of £75 I thought that I could find a bag just as good for cheaper, after all we all love a good bargain, and I think this bag looks just as good if not better.
The socks actually come part as a 3 pack, therefore for £8 I didn't think was so bad because then you can mix and match the socks with other shoes to create a whole new look and the belts also come as a 2 Pack for £4.99 which is brilliant as both belts would really go with the whole outfit.

1/2/3/4/5/6
TOTAL: £112.48

I love the neon trend at the moment. My original plan was just to have a neon clutch, however I've wanted a bow clip from AA for ages now, and when I saw they did it in orange, it just would look so cute at the back of my hair and I also thought that the dress would look great with a chunky statement necklace and when I came across this chain one from Topshop, it was like it was meant to be.
I really want these flatforms from Riverisland, I don't like wearing heels because I just tower above everyone else so I normally wear flatforms and I think that these shoes will last a good while as the tread is pretty big!

1/2/3/4/5/6
TOTAL: £114

If you've not already guessed already, Coral/Pink is my favourite colour, I have so many Coral items in my wardrobe, and this summer I will probably buy a whole lot more, I hope. Coral looks great with a tan and when I found this Topshop Cover up I was in love, no matter what swim suit you pick, you could probably pair it with this cover up. The Sandals are just made for the sun, apparently as they are called 'easy tan summer sandal' and there is nothing worse than tan lines, especially embarrassing ones.
This AA bag will be perfect hold all for the beach, you definitely will be able to fit everything in like a towel, dry clothes, books and camera, everything you need!
I love River Island Sunglasses, they suit me a lot better than most sunglasses and for £13 they are a little price to pay. Unfortunately I lost my last pair when I was in Turkey in this beautiful flowing river, nearly cried when it happened and was hunting for ages to find them but as soon as they fell off my head, they were gone *sigh*. If we ever get a summer again this year, they are definitely the first purchase!

For more information on the competition  and how to enter check here and make sure you send me the link to your outfits collages!

Urban Outfitters, Sparkle and Fade Parker

All my girls from home came to Leeds for the weekend and of course the Leeds girls (me and my 3 best friends all moved here together) had to show them around the brilliant shops!
Unfortunately they just missed the opening of the new shopping centre Leeds Trinity which opens Thursday 21st March, this week! It's 1,000,000 sq ft, 3 floors shopping centre, holding 120 stores, such as Topshop, Mango, Next, Hollister, there is even a Cadbury's store and the first ever UK One Direction pop-up shop. What is that!? Madness.
Henry Holland, the Fashion designer will opening the doors and 10 am on Thursday 21st March and I've heard rumours that One Direction may be opening their pop-up store on Saturday 23rd March at 9am, Harry Styles even tweeted about it.
The least I can is that I'm so bloomin' excited about it!

In our home town, shopping is terrible. Terrible probably being an understatement, Everything is closing down and there are basically no shops left, only the big brands like Topshop, River Island, Starbucks, Marks and Sparks etc.. but they are still small sized stores, compared to the 3 story Topshop/Topman that we have in Leeds. So not many of the girls have ever walked into Urban Outfitters store before, cry. But as it is moving to Trinity there wasn't much for them to see, other than the 50% sale of a couple of items that they have left.
Me and two of my friends all fell in love with this gorgeous Sparkle and Fade Parker! I've been looking for a new parker for ages now, my Tesco parker is just at the back of my coat rack hiding, because I'm too embarrassed to wear it anymore. It won us all over straight away, and that's right we all bought it... all three of us. Beth.Holl doesn't live in Leeds and if me and Danielle go out, we will just have to make sure we're both not wearing it, so we won't look like fools and we all get to own the coat of our dreams!

This Sparkle and Fade Parker was reduced from £98 to £30, which is another reason why I HAD to get it
I'm truly in love. The hood feels amazing and I would sleep in it if I could.

Well, in love for a couple of days, and yesterday I finally got to wear it (I let the girls wear there's first). A Couple of us went for a Nandos and then as we was walking out of The Light, another shopping centre, my draw string toggle broke off and my heart was broken. We ran to Urban Outiftters hoping that we could exchange for another one, but the only coat they had left had the same problem. I warned all the girls and Beth has just told me that her's has now broken! I did manage to fix it with a safety pin but it just broke again, so I think I'm going to have to pay more and get it fixed professionally. Which just sucks. Other than this faff about, I'm so glad that I bought this coat it's really light and still managed to keep you really warm, and there is a hood which is fabby cause I never have a brolly!

Has this ever happened to you? Or do you know an easy way to fix it?
